About Me
What I do
Danica is interested in the intersection between computer science, data science, entrepreneurship, and social impact, and builds her education at Berkeley around these topics. She is involved in many activities on campus and in the community, including CS Scholars, Codeology, CS Kickstart, Society of Women in Engineering, and volunteers to help refugee immigrants at East Bay Sanctuary Covenant.
Danica served as Director of CS Kickstart at UC Berkeley. She is passionate about bringing Computer Science and other STEM opportunities to women and minorities in STEM and accomplishes this through planning a summer program that allows freshman women to learn more about the tech industry and Computer Science at UC Berkeley. Leading a staff team of twenty women, she facilitated the planning and execution of the Summer 2022 and 2023 cohorts of CS Kickstart from recruiting students, marketing the program, communicating with sponsors for field trips and support, working out event logistics, to volunteering and seeing the women’s growth during the summer program.
In her free time, she enjoys making wire wrapped jewelry for her small business, Danicat Treasures, making YouTube videos, crafting miniature doll houses, and playing the flute and guitar. She's also a freelance photographer and helps many students take their grad pictures!
